In-depth CBD Article: Hemp Oil Mythology Part 2. Definitive and Instructive

Hemp Oil Mythology Part 2 Further Defines the Differences Between Hemp Oil Extract & Hemp Seed Oil. Read & Learn.
Here’s a simplified overview of how Hemp Oil Extract is made. Hemp flowers are the beginning. The companies that produce CBD and CBG-based products extract cannabinoids and other organic compounds from the flowers.
For the Hemp and Marijuana chemists out there. I expect that you know there are multiple processing methods used to accomplish this initial extraction. We all know that these various methods matter in terms of what you’re manufacturing.
For the purposes of this article, we’re not going to make people crazy with all that detail. We’ll continue to keep the explanation very simple and basic.
The initial result is a hemp extract that retains a range of phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and other organic compounds found naturally in hemp.
This extract is further processed to make various CBD Oil or CBG Oil products including tinctures, Capsules/Softgels/Gelcaps, topicals, edibles, beauty and skincare, personal care, etc. Some of these products are Full-spectrum, and others are THC-Free.
The bottom line is simple. If you want the benefit of CBD or CBG, you need to order products based on Hemp Oil Extract.
Some Hemp Oil Observations
As an aside for the more scientifically minded. we invite you to go online and find published papers and technical articles on Hemp extraction methodologies. That exploration is something I encourage for those of us who want to learn more about the scientific/technical end of product development.
As I mentioned in Hemp Oil Mythology Part 1, Hemp Oil is a term that is used interchangeably with Hemp Extract but be cautious and careful. Some companies use this term when they’re really selling Hemp Seed Oil.
We believe that there’s a really simple lesson here that is applicable to all products; READ THE LABEL Especially read the ingredients. If you don’t understand what the ingredients are, find out.
Don’t just buy it and try it. The Groovy Hemp Company and Groovy Hemp Podcast sites share an extensive CBD glossary.

Our glossary explains various things in easy-to-read and easy-to-understand language.
Hemp Oil Pro Tips
If you read a label that includes “Cannabis Sativa L” as a main ingredient but does NOT mention CBD Oil, Hemp Oil Extract, or Cannabinoids, get very suspicious. You more than likely will not be buying what you thought you were going to buy.
Look for an independent lab result. If you don’t see one on that site for the corresponding product, get even more suspicious.
Unfortunately, like everyone else, the hemp/CBD industry has its share of unethical individuals. If you thought used-car salesmen were just in the auto business, think again.
Reputable vendors and sites generally have easily accessible independent lab results for CBD and CBG products.
The lab results will list the percentage of various cannabinoids in that product. In many cases, they will also list impurities that do NOT belong in that container.
You can go to a lot of CBD sites and waste large amounts of time looking for lab results. Almost all Groovy Hemp Company CBD product pages have corresponding independent lab results (AKA COAs). You’ll find them in the tab for lab results.
The bottom line with Hemp Seed Oil is simple. While it is healthy and good for the body in many ways, as I mentioned earlier, Hemp Seed Oil contains almost no cannabinoids.
Once again, if you want the benefit of CBD or CBG, you need to order products based on Hemp Oil Extract and only Hemp Oil Extract.
